Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Michael Huerta currently studies under Bonita Boyd and Anne Harrow at the Eastman School of Music where he performs in the Eastman Wind Ensemble and Philharmonia. Michael is also the flutist in the Meraki Wind Quintet, an Eastman based ensemble since 2017. Michael has performed as Principal Flute in many orchestras across the country including Pierre Monteaux Festival Orchestra, Sewanee Symphony Orchestra, Miami Music Festival Orchestra, and Center Stage Pops Orchestra. Last summer, Michael was named a fellow at the Sarasota Music Festival for its 2019 season.
