Sherry McCarthy received her early musical training in violin and piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada, and holds performance degrees from McGill University (BMus) and the Eastman School of Music (MMus). She runs an active private music studio of talented violinists and pianists, and is a collaborative pianist for many of the area’s exceptional string players. A founder and manager of the Genesee String Quartet, she also freelances with various orchestras, and is concertmaster of the Greater Rochester Women’s Philharmonic.
