Tyler Cassidy-Heacock

Tyler Cassidy-Heacock, PhD, is a soprano specializing in twentieth-century and contemporary music whose concert performances have been described as "tender, focused, and beautiful,  ... sung with great intention" and "filled with vision." She earned a BA in Music History, Literature and Theory from Oberlin College and a PhD from the University of Rochester in Musicology and Ethnomusicology. She performs often as part of cello-soprano duo TYES, appearing at SUNY Geneseo and in community venues. Tyler has appeared as a guest soloist or chamber musician throughout the Rochester area with groups including Irondequoit Community Orchestra and Cordancia Chamber Orchestra. Tyler is the Director of Resource Development at the Seneca Park Zoo, mentors emerging fundraisers through the Equity Through Development program, and serves on the Board of Directors for Cordancia Chamber Orchestra and the Institute for Creative Music.
