Violinist Ellen Henry grew up in Ottawa (Canada) and earned her BSc at U of Toronto where she also continued her music studies and orchestral playing. University of Rochester offered the PhD program she wanted (Toxicology) with the added attraction of Rochester’s many musical opportunities (partially made up for having to leave her native country!). Those have included several decades playing with the UR Symphony, as well as many stints with other orchestras and ensembles around town. Since retiring from a research faculty position at URMC just before the pandemic, small ensemble chamber music and Cordancia have provided her major musical activities.
