Patty Welch, tuba
Originally from Muncie Indiana, Patty Welch earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Eastman School of Music. She recently retired as a music educator in the West Irondequoit Central School District after 34 years of teaching and was the 2023 recipient of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's Outstanding Music Educator Award. Patty plays tuba with several local ensembles including the Eastman Community Music School Music Educator’s Wind Ensemble, Greater Rochester Women’s Philharmonic, Center Stage Pops, Signet Brass and Cordancia.
It is so rewarding to play in a community based chamber orchestra of this caliber. Cordancia offers such unique experiences that consider the "complete package" including literature, musical direction, venue and high quality collaborators. I love my back row seat!
