Matt Osika

Matt Osika, trumpet Currently teaching instrumental music at Thomas High School and Willink Middle School in Webster, Osika performs regularly as principal trumpet with the Penfield Symphony and Cordancia Chamber Orchestras as well as the Plymouth Brass Quintet. He has conducted the Cordancia Chamber Orchestra, Ad Hoc Chamber Ensemble, The ECMS Music Educators’ Wind Ensemble, and various honor groups throughout New York State. Osika’s compositions and arrangements are in high demand and are performed regularly by local ensembles.  Osika attended the Eastman School of Music as a recipient of the prestigious Lois S. Rogers scholarship where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Music/Music Education (2008) and a Master’s degree in Music Education (2010). During that time, he performed alongside the Canadian Brass, served as tour manager for the Eastman Wind Ensemble, and as Assistant Conductor of the Eastman Wind Orchestra. Trumpet instructors include James Thompson and Douglas Prosser; conducting instructors include Mark Davis Scatterday and Brad Lubman.
