Dr. Matthew Witten, percussionist, is a musician, teacher, organizer, and political consultant. He has performed globally, as a percussion soloist, chamber musician, and contemporary music specialist, as well as with numerous orchestras, and for musicals both locally and on Broadway. Matthew has also been on the faculty at multiple institutions including the University of Rochester, Penn State University, Rowan University, and many others. He holds a MM degree from Rowan University,

as well as a BM, DMA, and Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music.

In 2023, Matt was Campaign Manager for Vik Vilkhu Brighton’s new Town Justice, the first Sikh-American trial judge in NY State’s history. Matt was also the Field Director for NY State Senator Jeremy Cooney and Campaign Manager for Pearl Brunt’s 2021 campaign for Pittsford NY Town Board. As an organizer he has campaigned to unionize local adjunct professors and he has done significant volunteering with several organizations like MoveOn, Working Families Party, and Vote Save America.

Matt just accepted a staff position with MoveOn as a Field Organizer for the Northeast region in their 2024 Election Program to help re-elect President Biden, and many other key Democrats running for U.S. Congress.
