André Washington

After graduating from the Eastman School of Music in 2010, André J. Washington moved to France as a Fulbright scholarship recipient. He studied at the Conservatoire d’Orléans, where he obtained his Premier Prix in 2012. He also studied at the École Normale de Musique de Paris, where he obtained an Artist Diploma in Chamber Music in 2013. Prior to moving to Rochester, André was formerly the principal flutist of the University of Chicago Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the grammy-nominated ensemble Imani Winds. André has also performed as a concerto soloist with l’Orchestre de la Cité Internationale and the Chicago Sinfonietta.
